Just today on the radio I heard that a toilet paper wedding dress won a design contest.
Hearing this apparently tells me three things: The days of perfecting a collection of single-ply artwork once limited to before the homecoming football game in high school are NOT over; eco-friendly is becoming high fashion; and, now you REALLY hope it doesn’t rain on your wedding day.
Lets focus on the second realization for the remainder of this post. High-end fashion & design is really becoming earth friendly.
And this isn’t the only case. A couple weeks ago I read an article that a recent study that women would rather fancy a man who drove a fancy new hybrid than a fancy new sports car.
Kids in school are catching on to it too. Recycled school supplies and stationary are outselling conventional supplies for the upcoming school year.
So you probably can say (using Paris Hilton’s cache) there’s been a shift in what’s hot. The tables have finally turned, and for good reason.
And we’re seeing it too. The hottest presentation folder on the market today is the Envirofolder™ made of earthy, 100% post-consumer recycled chipboard. What once was considered a disposable packing and shipping material has now became an elegant product.
Here’s to high-(green)-fashion!
