Everyone needs to be responsible. Whether it be your kids when it’s time to clean their room, or rather yourself when it’s time to do your laundry. This is especially resonates with me, because I washed what it seemed like 10 loads last night. I had one shirt left. No pants. It was time.
We need to be responsible with our environment as well. Do you watch what you throw out? We don’t think about it that often, but everything we throw in the trash bin is going right into a landfill.
At Independent Printing, anything we use in the manufacturing process gets recycled. I mean EVERYTHING. The paper that we don’t use goes off to be recycled in a pulp plant about a mile from where we’re at. The excess ink is sent off in drums to be made into fuel. The solvents are distilled and reused. Lots of people think printing or manufacturing in general is horrible, but I can honestly say at least we’re doing our part to make it better.
What I can’t believe is that there still are people that think that there’s no reason to do this green thing. Crazy huh? According to our buddy Al Gore – they’re probably on the same planet as those who think the moon landing didn’t happen.
But enough galactic talk. It comes down to a matter of responsibility. I was taught in 4th grade to “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” because it is important as cleaning your room. And in later in life – doing laundry.
So what kinds of people are these non-believers? Wasteful, pathetic… maybe lazy. But don’t give up on them, because a step in the right direction could be getting their presentation folders printed at a responsible printing company. Just as long as they don’t stop in for a press-check, because they probably don’t have any pants. And no one likes that.
